Hair Nightmares: after swimming

Holy Crackers!I just realized how long it's been since I posted on my blog!!! and I am so sorry guys! But anyways as you all know its summer time and a vast majority of people have started to go swimming... I LOVE swimming, the instant refreshment of the crisp water, the adrenaline rush of boating, hanging with friends and all the good food and lets not forget the respite from the merciless sun!...sounds great right! It is...except for the fact that after I get out of whatever body of water I have been lounging in my hair resembles a cat fresh out of the dryer. So these are just a few tricks and tips I use to hydrate and tame my mane that might be useful to you.

1. Pre swimming hydration
Before getting in the water soak your hair in pure water for a minute or two. This fills up the hair cuticle with fresh, clean water and prevents chlorinated , salt, or icky lake water from damaging your hair. For extra protection apply a leave-in conditioner or swim spray,

2. Shampoo and Conditioner
Right after swimming apply a clarifying shampoo to cleanse dirt, chlorine, and salt out of your hair. Some great brands of clarifying shampoo are Carol's Daughter Rosemary Mint Clarifying Sulfate-Free Shampoo from Sephora and Paul Mitchell Three-Clarifying Shampoo from Wal-Mart. You could also make an all natural clarifying wash with apple cider vinegar.

3.Deep Condition
Deep condition helps prevent and repair split ends, brittleness, and dryness of hair. It also restores nutrients and mineral stripped from the hair by water and heat damage. Brands I use are Garnier Fructis Fortifying Deep Conditioner from medshopexpress.com and Nexxus Humectress Deep Conditioner from soap.com.

Hope you enjoy these as much as I do!  Follow and Comment!Love you guys!
